Family Building Grant

The Tinina Q. Cade Foundation’s Family Building Grant is an annual award that provides up to $10,000 to needy, infertile families. These grants assist with the costs associated with infertility treatment or domestic (does NOT cover international) adoption. Family Building Grants can take the form of a cash award that is payable directly to the clinic or agency or a medication award that will be sent to the fertility clinic of the recipient. The grants are available for medical treatment of infertility and child adoption. The fertility medication grant is provided through a generous donation from EMD Serono.

What do Cade Grants Cover?

Cash Grants: Awardees can use the funds for domestic adoption and infertility treatments including IUI, IVF, donor egg, gestational carrier.  Grants do not cover egg freezing or embryo freezing.

Medication Grants: Awardees will receive all medications below (provided as an in kind grant from EMD Serono.)

Applying For The Family Building Grant

The Tinina Q. Cade Foundation’s Family Building Grant™ provides up to $10,000 per funded family to help with costs of domestic adoption and medical fertility treatment. The only restrictions for applying are:

  1. You MUST have a diagnosis of infertility from your doctor.

  2. You MUST be a citizen or a legal permanent US resident.

The grant is offered twice per year (in SPRING and FALL), and the number of applications funded as well as the amount of funding depends on the success of the Cade Foundation’s fundraising activities (i.e. the more we raise, the more we can give away). All of our grants are Family Building Grants but we have a special pool of funds set aside for “Savannah Grants” and "Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grants" which are only available to Shady Grove Fertility patients undergoing IVF. Medication grants are generously provided by EMD Serono.

Winners will be expected to attend the Cade Foundation Family Building Gala, Le Diner Bleu, which is usually the first Saturday in November (in Baltimore, MD) in person or virtually.

For applicants interested in the Savannah Grant and the Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant, please complete the regular Family Building Grant application. All Shady Grove Fertility patients who submit the Family Building Grant application are automatically entered into the pools for general Cade Foundation Family Building Grants as well as the Savannah’s Grant and Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant.
